TOTE App - Case Study
Concept
Moms have it hard when it comes to planning trips because they have a lot more responsibilities than the average traveller. So we wanted to create an app that helps new moms find smarter ways to travel.
Team: I have worked with two UX/UI designer fellows.
Persona
User Research & Insights
- After interviewing busy moms with young kids, we discovered that safety, research, and packing were their biggest concerns.
- They were more likely to trust reviews, especially from other moms similar to them.
- They wanted to avoid any time wasted on their trips picking up items they forgot to pack or figuring out where to go and what to bring.
Empathy Map
Problem Statement
Moms struggle to plan and pack for their family trips and by exploring a community where moms can share their travel experiences, recommend safe places to take kids, and recommend the necessary items to bring for family trips, moms will feel more secure in their travel plans, travel more frequently, and share their reviews with other moms through the app.
Affinity Diagram
User Scenario
- Diane sees a promotion to save 20% off with a download of the Tote App while shopping for an upcoming family trip.
- Diane downloads Tote, fills out the form, and reads the recommended activities and destinations reviewed by other moms.
- Each listing has an itemized packing checklist so she selects a few activities and continues shopping according to the lists.
- Diane feels much more confident going into this trip because she feels her family will spend more time enjoying activities instead of worrying about what to do.
